Auckland Drawfest on Facebook & the BIG Draw

Hey guys! I'm your new provider of all good things related to Auckland artists hanging out with other artists! IF you have a sketch meet you want pimped based in Auckland- tell me, and I'll let everyone know about it in good time ;)

Upcoming:-

The BIG Draw

The BIG draw is a more life drawing sketch meet I see regularly on Facebook. The idea with these is 10 - 20 artists all hang out together at a nice location and draw stuff around them like landscapes, people, objects etc... so it's a life drawing event.

Their next meet up is at TSB Bank Wallace Art Centre / Pah Homestead, at 72 Hillsborough Road, Hillsborough. This is on Saturday 26 May. 10am - 1pm for those of you interested.

Hunt them down and boot 'em out like a good xenophobe :D! THIS BE OUR COUNTRY('s deviantart community) WE DON'T TAKE KINDLY TO YER TYPE AROUND HERE.
I think they like to take advantage of the groups no moderation submitting setting.

But mebbe do it nicelike. Give them a chance to prove a tie to NZ?

Alrighty - I've had a look through the nationalities of all the members who joined this year, and there's actually only one person from Spain. :O There's also one Aussie, one Egyptian, one Brazilian and two Russians, then the other 19 are Kiwis.

I don't feel quite right barring all internationals just-because, but I will definitely limit how much they can post - RE: the no-mod submit, I think the one you might have noticed is that one guy who keeps spamming pics AND putting them in the wrong folder. I'll remove his and have a word with him, and I'll make a journal saying people from overseas can still be members if they can keep it down to a pic or two a week and use the proper folder. :B

If that proves unworkable and no-one abides by it, then yes, banhammer time.

And I still haven't got hold of Murk. Where the hell is he? Was gonna give him the spare slot on the Ham stall.

What would you like to know? The rough essentials are: we're a community for NZ artists, we aim to bring more artists together and get them talking and drawing, we have meetups every so often in the larger cities where we all get together and draw, and we run a stall at the Armageddon expos where we try and get new artists some exposure.

Also you can submit art to our gallery if you want to show it off, and everyone will see it! Just make sure it goes into the folder "Members' Showcase".

Hey guys.. I am here commenting on the drawfest Page to find out what I can do to get help with publishing as myself and two other guys are currently working on the first chapter of our project and have complete 11 pages.. and finished the story bored of our first chapter. any advice on what I can do when the chapter is completed would be great ^^

Hiya! Sorry it took a while to get back to you. That kind of question will be the kind of thing to post on the Forum. We're currently working on a new Drawfest website which will have a forum on it. ^_^ We'll keep everyone updated on when that's going ASAP!
